As the beer creates steam and moisture on the inside of the bird, the grill's direct heat caramelizes sugars and crisps the outside for the perfect combination of juicy and crispy (2 of our favorite words in craft beer)!
- Prep Time: 5 minutes
- Cook Time: 1-2 hours (about 20 min per pound)

1 whole chicken
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
12-oz can of beer half full (nothing with plastic or paper labels, duh!)
Brewhead Craft Seasonings Sweet & Smoky Beer-BQ Rub
Instructions:
- Preheat grill to 375F
- Remove and discard giblets from chicken
- Brush chicken with olive oil
- Liberally rub chicken inside & out with Brewhead Craft Seasonings Sweet & Smoky Beer-BQ Rub
- Ideally allow chicken sit refrigerated for at least 2 hours and up to overnight
- Slide chicken over beer can and set upright on the grill (you may need to lean chicken against your grill's warming rack to keep it upright)
- Close grill lid and allow to cook for about 20 minutes per pound or until internal temp in thickest part of the breast reaches 165F
- Tent with foil and allow to rest for at least 10 minutes before slicing and serving
